Gail Williams Horner is a member attorney at Snider & Horner, PLLC, having joined Kevin Snider in the practice in 1997. She is a licensed Tennessee attorney and is also a Tennessee Rule 31 Listed Family and General Civil Mediator.
Ms. Horner concentrates her practice in family law, adoption, juvenile law, as well as family mediation. She has extensive experience in other areas including consumer matters, probate, and wills and estates. She is an experienced civil litigator in the local, state and federal courts, as well as administrative hearings and state appellate cases.
Ms. Horner is a native Tennessean, having grown up in Giles County. She received her B.S. in Education Cum Laude from Memphis State University in 1976. After returning to the Memphis area when her husband completed his service as an officer with the United States Navy, she then earned her law degree at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 1996.
Ms. Horner is admitted to practice before all the courts in the State of Tennessee, the U.S. District Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Memphis Bar Association, the Association for Women Attorneys and the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association.
She and her husband, Randy, resided in many areas of the country during her husband’s career as a United States Naval Officer, and recently resided in Germany for two years associated with her husband’s work for FedEx. Ms. Horner served many years as a troop leader for both the Girl Scouts of America and the Cub Scouts (B.S.A.); she served in PTA positions for the Shelby County School System, including President of the Collierville Elementary PTA, where she was honored with a Tennessee PTA Lifetime Membership. She coached various community youth sports programs as her children grew up, and she is active in many other community and volunteer activities. She served as a board member and officer for various charitable groups, including the FedEx Pilots Wives Association which is a key supporter of both the St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House.
Ms. Horner is a Life Member of the University of Memphis Alumni Association and a supporter of the University of Memphis Tiger Clubs. She is a member of the Germantown Chamber of Commerce where her firm was honored as “Small Business of the Year” in 2001.
In 2001-2002, Ms. Horner was recognized by Strathmore’s WHO’S WHO for her leadership and achievement in the practice of law.
Ms. Horner and Randy reside in Collierville where they raised their two children, Derek (a licensed attorney in Florida and Pennsylvania) and Stephanie (a licensed Advanced Practice Nurse “NP” in Texas). They are parishioners at Incarnation Catholic Church in Collierville. She enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, trivia, reading and spending time with family (especially her two young granddaughters) and friends.
